PREP ROUNDUP : Brea Girls Beat Lynwood for Title

Defending Southern Section Division III champion Brea-Olinda won its second consecutive Rancho Grande tournament with a 57-32 victory over defending Division I champion Lynwood Saturday at Etiwanda High School.
Tournament most valuable player Jennifer Saari had 16 points and four second-half three-point baskets. The Ladycats (4-0) outscored Lynwood (3-1) 22-1 over an eight-minute span midway through the half, breaking open an eight-point game. Kiyoko Miller had 12 points and four steals.
In the final of the Irvine tournament:
Irvine 50, Orange Lutheran 46--Jenna Bodholdt led Irvine (3-0) with 16 points and seven rebounds. Shawnee Stevens added 14 points and seven rebounds.
In the final of the Carson City (Nev.) tournament:
Marina 43, Mineral County (Nev.) 33--Shandy Robbins scored 16 points and had 13 rebounds as Marina defeated the defending Nevada State II-AA champs. Marina took a 25-4 halftime lead.
Robbins was most valuable player, and Sonya Bryant and Kirsten Cappel made the all-tournament team.
In the final of the Fullerton tournament:
Newport Harbor 49, Fullerton 30--Mandy Clayton and Dianne Pulido scored 15 points each for Newport (4-0), which took a 39-14 halftime lead. Nadia Hoerner led Fullerton (2-1) with 12 points.
In the Woodbridge tournament:
Estancia 70, Huntington Beach 68 (OT)--Jennifer McCartin scored 20 points for Estancia (2-0).
Woodbridge 74, San Clemente 40--Krissy Duperron scored 24 points and Erin Stovall had 14 to lead Woodbridge (2-0).
In the El Rancho 32-team wrestling tournament:
Anaheim first--The Colonists placed 12 of 13 wrestlers in the top six as 103-pound Jose Lopez led Anaheim by pinning all five opponents in the first round to earn most valuable wrestler.
In the Long Beach Millikan wrestling tournament:
San Clemente second--The Tritons had 10 wrestlers in the top three, led by champions Chris Sayer, Adam Miller and Aaron Greco.
In the final of the Harold S. Young boys’ soccer tournament:
Bullard 2, Capistrano Valley 0--Capistrano Valley allowed its first goals in six games.
In the quarterfinal, Mark Wallace scored in sudden-death overtime of a scoreless tie to lead the Cougars into the semifinal game against Hoover, which Capistrano Valley won, 2-0.
In the Long Beach Millikan boys’ soccer tournament:
Los Alamitos 4, Long Beach St. Anthony 0--John Wertenbroek and Clay Peterson combined for the shutout for Los Alamitos (1-0-1).
Marina 4, Bellflower St. John Bosco 1--Brendan Fluss, Brian Pellon, Bobby Hughes and Joey Borzoni scored for Marina (2-1-1).
In the Irvine tournament:
Corona del Mar 0, Tustin 0 (Corona del Mar wins shootout, 3-1)--Gabe Bowne, Josh Weinstein and Nick Orlich scored in the shootout to lead the Sea Kings (3-1).
