Girls’ Basketball

Notre Dame High girls’ basketball player Lourdes Slinsky will miss six weeks because of a knee injury.

Slinsky, a junior forward, was a key starter for Notre Dame (4-1), averaging 9.8 points and 9.5 rebounds.

“The (fast break) has been our bread and butter,” Coach Rob DiMuro said. “And she is our finisher on the break. This hurts.”

Slinsky sustained the injury to her right knee Monday in the second quarter of the Knights’ 56-53 loss to North Hollywood.
