FAYE DEVERA
Singles, Villa Park, So.
DeVera won 44 of 45 sets during the season--losing only to Freudenberg--and did not drop a game in the first two rounds of the section individual tournament. She lost in the quarterfinals to eventual-champion Amanda Basica.

BRANDI FREUDENBERG
Singles, El Modena, Sr.
A two-time Times’ player of the year, Freudenberg reached the section individual round of 16 for the fourth consecutive year. Freudenberg, who earned a scholarship to UCLA, also won the Century League singles title over DeVera.

NINA VAUGHAN
Singles, Corona del Mar, Fr.
Vaughan took the tough Sea View League by storm, winning 27 of 30 sets. She also won 51 of 55 sets overall and reached the section individual tournament quarterfinals by upsetting Brandi Freudenberg in the round of 16.

BOB WALTON
Coach of the Year, Laguna Beach
Walton lost his top two doubles players, but still led the Artists to a third consecutive Division II section championship. The Artists won 23 of 24 matches and were the No. 1-ranked team in Orange County from start to finish.

KATIE TIERNEY (Jr.), MICHELE JOHNSON (Jr.)
Doubles, Dana Hills
After they started the season playing singles, Johnson and Tierney teamed to go 35-0, win the South Coast League title, and reach the section individual quarterfinals.

ALISSA SCOTT (Jr.), MEGAN WACHTLER (Jr.)
Doubles, Corona del Mar
Scott was 45-7 as a singles and doubles player and Wachtler was 34-11 as a singles and doubles player. As a team, they reached the section individual doubles final.

CHRISTIE O’MEARA (Sr.), JENNY GLASGOW (Sr.)
Doubles, Corona del Mar
They spent the entire season together and went 24-3 in the Sea View League and 42-9 overall. They reached the third round in the section individual tournament.
THE SECOND TEAM
SINGLES
Michelle Bray, Lagna Beach, Jr. Went 56-4, won Pacific Coast League singles title.
Natalle Exon, Woodbridge, So. Won 52 of 60 singles sets; defeated Vaughan twice.
Amanda Hastings-Phillips, Laguna Beach, Jr. Went 58-5 during season; beat Vaughan and Exon.

DOUBLES
Brittany McMillian, El Dorado, So.
Susan Surapruik, Jr.
Won Empire League title; swept in Division III team final.

Allison Miller, Los Alamitos, Sr.
Michelle Schneider, Sr.
Went undefeated in Sunset League and 59-7 overall.

Shannon Wilkins, Canyon, So.
Kim Westermann, Jr.
Reached quarterfinals of section individual tournament.
