BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Santa Margarita Beats Torrey Pines in Title Game

Alan Krist had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead Santa Margarita to a 43-35 victory over Encinitas Torrey Pines in the title game of the San Dieguito tournament Thursday.

Krist was named the tournament’s most valuable player. J.C. Timmons added 10 points for Santa Margarita (10-0), ranked ninth in Orange County.

In the Sacramento Tracy tournament:

Edison 62, Davis 45--Josh Lightman scored 27 points and Dave Ogas added 17 for Edison (5-6) in the consolation final.

In nonleague play:

Los Amigos 54, Century 43--Los Amigos made all 29 of its free throw attempts and outscored Century, 19-8, in the third quarter.

Kit Ratanaphoulee, Geronimo Cortez and John Elsaeser each scored 12 points to lead the Lobos (4-4).

Brea-Olinda 57, Sunny Hills 53--Brian Seaton scored 19 points, Matt Bodiford 13 and John Norum 10 points to lead visiting Brea (8-3).

Buena Park 66, Orange Lutheran 54--Towan Oliver scored 20 points and Ruben Gaffo added 17 to lead visiting Buena Park (5-6). Sonny Madsen had 14 points for Orange Lutheran (2-6).

Capistrano Valley 59, Honolulu St. Louis 43--Dan Galvanoni scored 14 points for host Capistrano Valley (8-4).

Loara 50, Anaheim 47--Tony Moss had a game-high 13 points to lead visiting Loara (6-4). Newport Harbor 58, Saddleback 46--Will Rankin scored 12 points to lead Newport Harbor (6-6).

San Clemente 63, Westminster 50--Eli Engle scored 21 points and had 11 rebounds and Mike Castaneda had 15 points for host San Clemente (5-6).

Woodbridge 90, University 67--David Burgess scored 36 points for Woodbridge, which outscored University, 50-33, in the second half. Freshman Eric Palmer had 15 points and seven assists and Nathan Scoggin had 15 points for the Trojans (3-8).
