In other conference softball:

Rancho Santiago 6, Irvine Valley 0--Carol Lazalbe was two for three with three RBIs for Rancho Santiago (21-8, 12-2).

Saddleback 3, Golden West 0--Stacey Lumley pitched a one-hitter with nine strikeouts for Saddleback (15-10, 7-7). Lumley retired 21 of the 23 batters she faced. In Orange Empire Conference golf:

Saddleback 372, Orange Coast 382, Palomar 386, Rancho Santiago 387--Saddleback’s Mike Gartner and Orange Coast’s Chris Ny shot one-under 69s at Lake San Marcos.

In Orange Empire Conference men’s volleyball:

Golden West 3, Palomar 2--Golden West moved into a tie for first with Palomar with a 13-15, 15-5, 14-16, 15-10, 15-10 victory. Greg Reitz had 21 kills and Brian Gordon 20 for the Rustlers (12-3, 10-3).

Orange Coast 3, San Diego Mesa 1--Jason Krone had 23 kills and Jesse Simon 20 for Orange Coast (9-4 in conference), which won 13-15, 15-9, 15-7, 15-9.

In the Southern California multi-event championships:

Zumwalt wins--Golden West’s Rick Zumwalt finished with 6,404 points in the decathlon, edging Rancho Santiago’s Ty Wynn, who had 6,382. Nikia McKinney of Fullerton was third (6,036). Saddleback’s Courtney Leonard finished fourth in the heptathlon with 3,692.
