Babko to Play for Riverside

Burroughs High senior center Suzy Babko made a commitment Wednesday to play basketball at UC Riverside, turning down offers from Cal State Northridge, Oregon, St. Mary’s and Cal Poly Pomona.

Babko averaged 15.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game last season for the Indians. She was a second-team Times All-Valley selection.

Alemany midfielder Tammy Alderman has verbally committed to play at Loyola Marymount.

Alderman, who had eight goals and 13 assists for the Indians last season, was third-team All-Southern Section Division II. She was also All-Mission League the last two years.

A member of the Valley United Revenge club team, Alderman chose the Lions over UC Irvine and the University of the Pacific.

Alemany goalie Michelle Aasen has signed a letter of intent to play at Azusa Pacific. Aasen, All-Mission League the last two years, had four shutouts.

Aasen, a member of the Valley United Revenge club team, was also named third-team All-Southern Section Division II.

She chose the Cougars over San Diego State, Loyola Marymount and Cal Poly Pomona.
