Wendt helped the Oilers reaffirm their No. 1 county ranking at the Orange County/Southern California Championships. After sweeping through pool play, Huntington Beach beat Santa Margarita, No. 8 San Clemente and Dana Hills, before routing No. 3 Mater Dei, 15-7, 15-2, in the Division I final. Wendt had seven kills in the final but was named tournament MVP for her overall play. “She had a great tournament,” Huntington Beach co-Coach Rocky Ciarelli said, “not only hitting, but serving, passing and defense. She does everything.”

Cross-country

* Irvine, senior. Won the Division I varsity race at the Woodbridge Invitational, finishing three miles in 17 minutes 42 seconds.
