In the Pacific Coast League cross-country finals--Costa Mesa won its first boys’ title in 15 years by scoring 43 points. University was second (47) followed by Laguna Hills (59), Aliso Niguel (96), Estancia (121).

University senior Richard Chow won the individual race in 15:35, beating sophomore teammate Martin Brix by one second.

University won the girls’ title by placing three runners in the top 10, beating Laguna Hills, 50-55. Aliso Niguel (62) was third, followed by Estancia (72), Laguna Beach (135) and Costa Mesa (139).

University freshman Alison Marquand won in 17:23, almost one minute ahead of Laguna Beach’s Lindsay Buwalda in second.

In Empire League girls’ tennis finals:

El Dorado has six of eight spots in semifinals--Top-seeded Amanda Oldridge defeated teammate Melisa Liao, 6-2, 6-0, to advance to the semifinals. Also advancing were El Dorado’s Yeyee Osunsanmi and Michelle Weisz.

Oldridge and Weisz, the top-seeded doubles team, also advanced to the doubles semifinals.

In the Garden Grove League girls’ tennis finals:

Do advances--Theresa Do of Garden Grove won, 6-3, 6-1, to reach the semifinals.

In Academy League girls’ volleyball:

Connelly 3, Fairmont 0--Marissa Pollara had 11 kills and three aces for Connelly, which beat Fairmont, 15-0, 15-2, 15-8. Carolyn Kriz had nine kills and nine aces for Connelly (12-1, 8-1), which remains in first place.

In the Golden West League:

Rosary 3, Westminster 1--Rosary won a share of its first league title in nine years with a 17-15, 12-15, 15-7, 15-9 victory over Westminster.

Sarah Cody had 11 kills to lead the Royals (13-3, 9-1). Westminster drops to 5-9, 3-6.

Ocean View 3, Saddleback 0--Katie Lindquist had 13 kills for Ocean View (13-1, 9-1), which won, 15-6, 15-4, 15-1.
