PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : NFC PLAYOFFS : Cowboys’ Haley Questionable
It appears that Charles Haley, the Dallas Cowboy star defensive end and key to disrupting Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre, will be questionable at best for Sunday’s NFC championship game against the Packers.
Haley, trying to come back from back surgery earlier this season which he initially thought would end his career, practiced Friday for the first time and said it didn’t feel very good.
“He told me he is not where he needs to be,” Cowboy Coach Barry Switzer said. “He said, ‘Coach, if I got to play, I will play.’ ”

For those who think the Packer defenders knocked around the San Francisco 49ers last week for the love of the game, think again.
It turns out that Packer defensive end Reggie White offered $500 bonuses for each good hit.
Sources say that White gave out his entire $13,000 semifinal paycheck in bonuses. He will probably do it again Sunday, when each player’s game check escalates to $27,000.
Who decides who gets paid for what hits?
“It’s my money, so I do,” White said.
Perhaps that was why White’s hit on Steve Young in the second quarter was so special.
He awarded himself $500 for it.
