Harrington Steps Down at Colorado
Joe Harrington resigned Tuesday as Colorado basketball coach after failing to bring the school to the national prominence that he had in his previous stint at Long Beach State.
Harrington, in the his sixth season at Colorado, announced he was quitting before an 82-80 home-court loss in overtime to Southern Utah.
Harrington said it was better to leave now so someone else could take over the Buffaloes (5-9).
Harrington had a 72-85 record at Colorado with two National Invitation Tournament appearances but none in the NCAA Tournament. He has a career record of 251-220, with his other head coaching jobs at Long Beach State, George Mason and Hofstra.
