Taft Again Makes It Look Perfectly Simple, 82-50

Monia Calhoun scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Vanessa Dunn had 20 points and 10 rebounds as undefeated Taft High rolled over Kennedy, 82-50, Friday in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Taft.

Tamaya Morris had 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Golden Cougars (10-11, 4-4 in conference play).

Taft is 16-0, 8-0.

Grant 110, Canoga Park 22--The Lancers, who led at halftime, 61-16, made 56% of their shots in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Grant.

Pona Stevenson scored 36 points, making nine of 11 three-point shots, and added 14 rebounds and six assists.

Nakeisha Perkins had 27 points and 22 rebounds, and Sharon Pai added 13 points, 15 rebounds and six assists for the Lancers (12-5, 6-2).

Chatsworth 88, San Fernando 22--Nancy Vincent had 22 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Chancellors (16-6, 7-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Chatsworth.

Jody Borenstein added 16 points and Irene Rodriguez had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

North Hollywood 85, Sylmar 46--Samantha Fargeon had 21 points and 15 rebounds as the Huskies (16-3, 8-0) claimed their 35th consecutive conference victory in a Valley Pac-8 game at Sylmar (4-10, 3-5).

Van Nuys 61, Monroe 32--Gohar Tumanian had 18 points and 23 rebounds for the Wolves (10-7, 6-2) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Van Nuys.

Birmingham 41, Cleveland 39--Shanika Askew had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Braves (5-6, 5-4) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.

El Camino Real 50, Granada Hills 31--Tami Jones had 16 points and Aja Diamond added 13 points and seven assists for the Conquistadores (10-4, 6-2) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at El Camino Real.

Verdugo Hills 51, Wilson 46--Rian Standley scored 15 points and Tiffany Kim added 12 for the Dons (4-14, 2-11) in a Northern Conference game at Verdugo Hills.

Crescenta Valley 78, Glendale 36--Michelle Greco had 19 points, 15 rebounds and seven steals for the Falcons (23-1, 8-0) in a Pacific League game at Crescenta Valley.

Moorpark 59, Nordhoff 50--Tracey Milburn had 20 points and eight assists as the Musketeers clinched the Frontier League title at Nordhoff.

Kelly Jaeger added 15 points and Damaris Hinojosa had 13 for Moorpark (20-0, 8-0),

Erin Barker scored 12 points for Nordhoff (15-8, 6-2).

Calabasas 55, Santa Paula 27--Cara Blumfield had 16 points for the Coyotes (12-7, 5-3) in a Frontier League game at Calabasas.

Heather Robertson added 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Tanya Paez had seven points for Santa Paula (2-6, 6-16).

Paraclete 51, Mojave 42--Kim Whisler had 20 points, 12 rebounds and nine blocked shots in a High Desert League upset at Paraclete.

Whisler scored nine points in the first quarter to help the Spirits (15-5, 7-1) to a 21-5 lead against previously unbeaten Mojave (20-1, 7-1).
