Scott Taylor has been hired to coach water polo at Costa Mesa High, Athletic Director Jerry Howell said Friday.

Taylor, who will continue to work as a walk-on coach, has been an assistant with the program for the last two years. He was an All-Southern Section goalkeeper on Costa Mesa’s Southern Section championship teams of 1986 and ’87.

Taylor, 25, replaces Brian Kreutzkamp, who returned to college after two years at the helm. Costa Mesa won the Division II championship last season.
