Playoff Games

DIVISION I-AA

Fountain Valley (24-4) at Rialto Eisenhower (18-7), 7:30 p.m.

The two highest-scoring teams in the first round meet. Eisenhower scored 76 against Upland, and the third-seeded Barons beat Ontario Chaffey, 105-55. The firepower of Jennifer Ludwicki (21.5 points) and Nicole Strange (15.0) could be handy playing in Rialto.

Other second-round game:

Lynwood (23-2) at Esperanza (18-7), 7:30 p.m.

DIVISION I-A

Mater Dei (23-2) at Westminster (23-4), 7:30 p.m.

Westminster has an inside advantage with 6-foot-2 Kristin Schult (13.8 points) and 5-11 Tanzenika Holmes (14.0), but the real question is whether the Lions can get them the ball. Top-seeded Mater Dei wins because of its superior guard play, and if Westminster can’t break the press, Westminster can’t win. The Monarchs have won 21 straight behind Rhonda Gondringer (16.7) and Melody Peterson (17.7).

Other quarterfinal game:

Edison (21-7) at Thousand Oaks (24-5), 7:30 p.m.

DIVISION II-AA

Woodbridge (25-2) at San Clemente (17-11), 7:30 p.m.

San Clemente has lost twice to top-seeded Woodbridge, both times by large margins. However, the Tritons led at halftime in the last game. Woodbridge opened with an 86-41 playoff victory over Santa Maria Righetti. San Clemente has scored 83 and 81 points in its playoff victories.

Other quarterfinal games:

Villa Park (17-9) at Cerritos Gahr (15-12), 7:30 p.m.

Moreno Valley (21-5) at Foothill (19-9), 7:30 p.m.

DIVISION II-A

El Dorado (19-5) at Ocean View (20-7), 7:30 p.m.

El Dorado got a school-record 32 points from Jamie Nebeker in a 62-56 upset of La Puente Bishop Amat. The Golden Hawks have won seven in a row, largely taking advantage of defensive standout Yvette deBruijn. However, second-seeded Ocean View is playing well and may have too many weapons for deBruijn to cover--Becky Fraser (15.0 points), Jennifer Tuiolosega (14.9) and Anna Lembke (12.0).

Other quarterfinal games:

Brea Olinda (23-3) at San Bernardino (23-5), 7:30 p.m.

Glendora St. Lucy’s (21-4) at Laguna Hills (23-2), 7:30 p.m.

DIVISION III-AA

Pasadena Muir (23-4) at Pacifica (19-5), 7:30 p.m.

It’s not likely Pacifica faced anything in the Garden Grove League like second-seeded Muir. The Mariners could use more of the magic Erin Kiyomura unleashed in the fourth quarter of a tough 47-42 first-round victory over Redondo Beach Redondo Union. Kiyomura scored eight of her 16 points in the fourth quarter, including four in the final 20 seconds.

Other quarterfinal game:

Moorpark (23-0) at Newport Harbor (16-11), 7:30 p.m.

DIVISION III-A

Estancia (21-5) at San Dimas (16-9), 7:30 p.m.

Third-seeded Estancia should have plenty of confidence after beating Rosary, 64-52, in the first round. Leading scorer Jessica Waltz accounted for only three points, but Vivi Rodriguez scored 24 as Estancia shot 57% from the field. However, the Eagles can boost their chances of winning this quarterfinal by making a free throw; they were only 11 of 29 against Rosary.

DIVISION IV-A

Sun Valley Village Christian (15-6) at Orange Lutheran (15-8), 7:30 p.m.

Orange Lutheran might need every bit of Amy Howard and Liz Pappas’ 13-point averages--and then some. Third-seeded Village Christian is coming off an 87-17 blowout against Alverno.

Other quarterfinal game:

Burbank Bellarmine-Jefferson (17-7) at Brethren Christian (17-8), 7:30 p.m.

DIVISION V-AA

Covina Western Christian (14-8) at St. Margaret’s (17-4), 7:30 p.m.

St. Margaret’s can be thankful it advanced despite scoring only 29 in the first round--a 29-20 decision over Downey Calvary Chapel. That kind of output probably won’t get the Tartans to the quarterfinals.

Other second-round game:

Capistrano Valley Christian (15-10) at Redlands Arrowhead Christian (15-4), 7:30 p.m.

DIVISION V-A

Maricopa (21-3) at Liberty Christian (17-9), 7:30 p.m.

At-large Liberty Christian knocked off third-seeded Mesrobian, 64-32, and must get past an at-large team to reach the semifinals. Heather Hill and Lynlee Vaccaro are averaging 12.9 and 12.1 points. All three of Maricopa’s losses were to fourth-seeded Santa Maria Valley Christian, and the Indians won’t be helped by a three-hour bus ride.
