College Baseball Coverage Should Be Closer to Home

I’m writing to complain about the lack of coverage of CSUN baseball in the Valley edition of The Times. The Matadors are ranked No. 3 in the nation by AP Collegiate Baseball and No. 12 by Baseball America.

On Feb. 23, CSUN traveled to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and swept a three-game series to become ranked as shown above. Yet on Wednesday, Feb. 28, your paper had more than a half of a page layout on a Cal Poly SLO player and maybe an obscure paragraph on CSUN.

One would think that as a Valley edition paper, The Times might take a little more interest in our local sports than a player that is our rival and is some 150 miles up the coast!

I hope The Times will rectify this soon, and I look forward to reading some of your articles on the Matadors baseball team.
