Long Beach Jordan’s defense paved the way in a 54-38 victory over Victory Valley in the boys’ Southern Section Division I-AA basketball final Saturday. Victor Valley, which came into the contest averaging 75 points, was held to six points in the third quarter and shot 17% in the second half. . . . Danielle Cassara led Millikan to three victories in the Fullerton softball tournament last weekend. The senior pitcher shut out Irvine University, Garden Grove and Villa Park, giving up eight hits in the three games. She also got four hits, including the game-winning double against Garden Grove. . . . James Jones, who scored 10 points in Dominguez’s 84-76 victory over Inglewood in the Southern Section Division II-A final Saturday, was playing in his fourth sectional title game in a row. Jones is 2-2 in those games.
