Caffrey Sets Mark for Runs Batted In
Paul Caffrey’s two-run triple in the fifth inning Tuesday gave him a single-season county record for runs batted in and helped host Heritage Christian defeat Palos Verdes Rolling Hills Prep, 14-4, in an Express League baseball game shortened to six innings.
Caffrey, a sophomore, has 42 RBIs. La Quinta’s Craig Kuzmic set the previous record with 41 last season. Caffrey also struck out 12 in five innings to earn the victory for Heritage Christian (8-6, 3-0 in league), which has scored 162 runs this season.
