With no chance of making the playoffs, Westlake High’s softball team played the role of spoiler Thursday in its final Marmonte League game.

Amber Heyl’s two-out double in the eighth scored Michelle Notaro from second to give the host Warriors a 3-2 upset victory over Camarillo, which made Newbury Park the league champion.

Camarillo (18-2-1, 11-2-1 in league play), The Times’ top-ranked team, needed a victory to claim a share of the league title. Westlake (14-11, 6-8) finished fifth.
