Fullerton 2, Long Beach 1--Fullerton won the title, eliminating the defending state champions at Long Beach. The Hornets (34-10) were limited to two hits, scoring both their runs on a throwing error by Long Beach pitcher Nicole De Luca with two outs in the fifth.

Long Beach (32-9) got its run in the fourth on two hits and an error by second baseman Michelle Rodriguez. Kristy Osborne (19-1) scattered four hits for Fullerton and had one of the Hornets’ two hits.

Saddleback 9, Los Angeles Pierce 1 (6, mercy)--Misty Thompson’s three-run homer in the fifth broke open a one-run game at Hancock and lifted Saddleback into the state finals. Thompson had four runs batted in, Christy Journell had two hits and two RBIs and Mindy Cook and Sara Petrella each had two hits for the Gauchos (31-11).
