Chapman Women Defeat Occidental

Kim Wyer scored two goals in four minutes as Chapman defeated Occidental, 2-0, in a nonconference women’s soccer game Wednesday at Chapman.

Wyer controlled a loose ball and scored her first goal at the 40-minute mark of the first half, and she then scored on a one-on-one from the right side. Chapman improved its record to 7-6.

In another nonconference game:

Brigham Young 3, UC Irvine 0--The visiting Anteaters (8-6-1) could not generate any offense and BYU put 23 shots on goal.

Southern California College 2, The Master’s 1 (OT)--Dawn Chastain scored the winning goal for SCC (8-5-1) in overtime in the 107th minute. Megan Connor scored a first-quarter goal for the Vanguards.
