No surprises in the Southern Section Division...
No surprises in the Southern Section Division IV water polo championship game today at 3 p.m. at the UC Santa Barbara pool.
The division’s top-seeded teams, Cabrillo and Royal, in order, have advanced to the final.
Cabrillo (25-2) is hoping for a repeat of its victory over the Highlanders in September, a 12-11 overtime thriller in the San Luis Obispo tournament.
Royal (23-5) is defending division champion.
Most of today’s high school playoffs will be in football. City Section teams play second-round games tonight. See page 8 for previews of games involving local teams.
College events in the region today include:
Women’s basketball: At 7 p.m., Grossmont at Moorpark.
Men’s basketball: At 7:05 p.m., Cal State Dominguez Hills at Cal State Northridge.
