Santa Margarita 38, Newport Harbor 0--Running back Billy Newman ran for 252 yards and two touchdowns as Santa Margarita won the Division V title.

Newman had touchdown runs of 91 and one yards and had an apparent 91-yard touchdown run called back when he stepped on the sideline at the 50.

Santa Margarita quarterback Carson Palmer completed nine of 13 passes for 241 yards and three touchdowns. He had 211 yards in the first half against the Eagles’ Sea View League rival.

It was the third consecutive shutout posted by the Eagles (13-1), who beat the Sailors, 36-22, during the regular season.

Newport Harbor running back Ray Ohrel ran for 122 yards, but quarterback Josiah Fredriksen, under heavy pressure, was sacked eight times.
