It’s a tall order, but Chaminade High will attempt to become the first California boys’ basketball team to defeat Harvard-Westlake when the Mission League rivals meet at 7 tonight at Chaminade.

With a victory, Chaminade (17-5, 8-1 in league play) can gain a share of first place and earn a season split with Harvard-Westlake (25-1, 9-0). The Wolverines defeated Chaminade, 78-40, on Jan. 17 at Harvard-Westlake.

Harvard-Westlake, ranked No. 1 in the state by Cal-Hi Sports, has lost only to Mt. Zion Christian of Durham, N.C., a national power, in the Reebok Holiday Classic in Las Vegas in December.
