Alemany League Streak Ends at 43

Harvard-Westlake High defeated Alemany, 56-48, in a Mission League girls’ basketball game Thursday night at Harvard-Westlake, ending the Indians’ winning streak in league at 43 games.

Omelogo Udeze scored 22 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Wolverines (18-6, 7-1), who climbed into a first-place tie with Alemany (18-3, 7-1).

Kelli Kobayashi scored 14 points for Alemany, ranked No. 6 in the region by The Times.

In other girls’ games:

Louisville 62, Chaminade 26--Becky Witt had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Royals (14-5, 5-3) in a Mission League game.

Flintridge Sacred Heart 62, Notre Dame 54--Danielle Dal Ponte scored 25 points for the Tologs (3-14, 2-6) in a Mission League game. Annette Montalban had nine points and 10 rebounds for Notre Dame (7-14, 2-6).

Buena 84, San Marcos 33--Nicole Greathouse had 25 points and 17 rebounds to help the No. 1-ranked Bulldogs (19-2, 12-0) win the Channel League game. Renae Hofmann and Ashley Jackson scored 17 and 11 points for Buena.

Oxnard 74, Hueneme 47--Danielle Curtis and Jaline Bradley each scored 22 points to pace the Yellowjackets (12-10, 7-5) in a Channel League game at Hueneme. Curtis also had 16 rebounds. Monique Taylor scored 23 points for the Vikings (3-19, 0-12).

Ventura 50, Rio Mesa 43--Erin Oshita had 11 points for the Cougars (16-5, 9-3) in a Channel League game at Rio Mesa. Karla Kanongata’a led the Spartans (9-13, 2-10) with 10 points.

Agoura 60, Westlake 27--Kristin DeSimone scored 12 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked six shots for the Chargers (10-12, 5-7) in a Marmonte League game.

Thousand Oaks 67, Newbury Park 41--Jenn Detmer’s 29 points paced the Lancers (16-5, 10-2) in a Marmonte League game.

Quartz Hill 79, Highland 47--Kenya Corley scored 25 points and April Garza added 24 points and 11 rebounds for the No. 5-ranked Rebels (15-2, 5-1) in a Golden League game.

Oak Park 73, Carpinteria 18--Roshawn Perkins and Michelle Frankson each had 15 points for the Eagles (10-10, 5-3) in a Tri-Valley League game.

La Reina 52, St. Bonaventure 46--Kindrea Cuccia scored 19 points for the Regents (13-4, 7-1) in a Tri-Valley League game.

Amy Rosario scored 25 points for the Seraphs (6-15, 2-6).

Fillmore 68, Bishop Diego 27--Christie Rosenblad collected 23 points and 12 assists for the Flashes (17-5, 7-1) in a Tri-Valley League game. April Kozar added 22 points and 20 rebounds.

Bell-Jeff 74, Cantwell Sacred Heart 26--Jaclyn Johnson had 23 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals for the Guards (23-1, 8-0) in a Camino Real League game.

BOYS

Marshall 62, L.A. Baptist 51--Reggie Williams scored 18 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter and the Eagles (15-6, 9-1) handed the No. 9-ranked Knights the Alpha League loss at L.A. Baptist.
