Hamilton Strikes Out 10, Edison Wins in Softball

Freshman Hillary Hamilton had a standout day pitching and hitting as host Edison beat Estancia, 8-1, Friday in a nonleague softball game.
Hamilton (5-2) struck out 10 and pitched a three-hitter. She had three hits and drove in two runs and Kristen DeGree had three hits and scored two runs for host Edison (7-3).
In another nonleague game:
Esperanza 3, Valencia 2--Kristin Hilliard hit a two-run triple in the third inning for Esperanza (6-3). Catie Lacy (4-2) pitched a one-hitter, struck out five and gave up no earned runs for the Aztecs.
In the Charter Oak softball tournament:
Brea Olinda 3, Azusa 2--Susan Shuplock drove in the winning run with no outs in the bottom of the seventh and winning pitcher Geney Orris struck out 13 for Brea (7-2).
In nonleague tennis:
Mission Viejo 9, Canyon 9 (Mission Viejo win on games, 80-71)--Eric Bachelor swept at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, to improve to 33-2 on the season for visiting Mission Viejo (5-5).
