The Buena High Water Polo Booster Club’s six-week competitive summer program is scheduled to run June 16 through July 31, and will be preceded by a meeting at 10 a.m. June 14 for all returning and incoming players in the ninth through 12th grades.

A parent should accompany players to the meeting, which will be headed by Buena Coach John Siman. Siman will discuss the summer program, including water polo skills training, workouts, league matches and tournaments.

* U.S. Olympic athletes Rafer Johnson, Carl Borack and Inger Miller will be guests today at the annual Mini-Olympics at The Country School in North Hollywood.

A variety of athletic events will be held at North Weddington Park for The Country School’s students, parents and staff beginning at 10 a.m. Competition will be preceded by opening ceremonies at 9:15 a.m. and followed by medal presentations at 1:30 p.m.

* Registration for the summer session of the American Roundball Corp.’s Instructional Basketball Academy and the Eddie Jones Basketball Camp--both for boys and girls in the first through 10th grades--will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday at the boys’ gym at North Hollywood High.

* Tryouts for the Ventura County Cooperstown (N.Y.) Invitational tournament team will be held next Tuesday through Friday at Ventura College from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Cost for each session is $30.

The final Ventura roster of 11- and 12-year-olds will be one of 500 youth teams participating in the tournament at Cooperstown, site of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Ventura is slated to play Aug. 2-10.
