Estancia 1, Corona del Mar 0--Luis Gonzalez’s goal two minutes into the match was the difference for Estancia (6-0-1).

In the Magnolia boys’ soccer tournament:

Diamond Bar 3, Kennedy 1--Jason Mize scored the lone goal for Kennedy in the second half. Kennedy is 4-3-1 and Diamond Bar improved to 2-3-1.

Garden Grove 3, Magnolia 1--Kenny Brooks scored two goals and had an assist in the second round for Garden Grove. Goalie Randy Ramirez had seven saves for the Argonauts (5-3).

Brooks also scored two goals in an earlier 2-0 first-round victory for Garden Grove over Bellflower. Ramirez had five saves in the shutout.

Kennedy 2, Ocean View 1--Randy Dawson and Miguel Rivera scored one goal each for Kennedy (4-3-1). The score was tied, 1-1, at halftime.

In nonleague girls’ soccer:

Laguna Hills 1, Sonora 0--Megan Griffith scored the winning goal for Laguna Hills (5-2-1) in the 79th minute. Goalkeeper Riannon Griego recorded 11 saves for Sonora.

In the Bullhead City (Ariz.) boys’ basketball tournament:

Magnolia 69, Escondido San Pasqual 61--Zamiro Bennem scored 20 points for Magnolia, which defeated previously unbeaten Escondido San Pasqual in the quarterfinals. Anthony Zaragoza added 17 points for Magnolia (9-3). Escondido San Pasqual is 9-1.

Magnolia will play Cedar City (Utah)Pine View at noon today in a semifinal game.

In another tournament game:

Irvine 74, Boulder City (Nev.) 57--Clay Carlson scored 20 points and Chris Ferguson added 19 and seven assists for Irvine. With the victory, Irvine (8-4) advanced to the consolation semifinals today against River Valley (Ariz.).

In the Iolani Prep Classic:

Honolulu St. Louis 51, Canyon 44--Canyon was outscored, 18-7, in the second quarter of the consolation championship and trailed by five at the half. Andy Gaulden had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Comanches (8-2).

In the La Costa tournament:

Santa Margarita 70, San Diego St. Augustine 42--Ryan Forehan-Kelly had four three-pointers, six assist and eight rebounds for Santa Margarita (8-0) in the championship game.

In the Trabuco Hills Invitational:

Laguna Hills 93, Los Angeles Verbum Dei 69--Josh Pierson and Kyle Pryor provided the three-point action for Laguna Hills as Pierson made seven and Pryor had four in the consolation game. The Hawks (8-2) play Sacramento Rocklin for fifth place at 3 p.m. today.

Trabuco Hills 62, Long Beach Wilson 56--Trabuco Hills led by one after three quarters, but Brennan Martin scored five of his 14 points in the fourth quarter to help Trabuco Hills pull away in the consolation semifinal. The Mustangs will meet Fontana Miller, a 54-53 winner over Century, in the consolation championship at 4:30 p.m. today.

In nonleague boys’ basketball:

Bolsa Grande 70, Saddleback 69--Jon James hit a six-footer with 59 seconds remaining to give Bolsa Grande a two-point lead, and Duc Nguyen made four free throws down the stretch to keep the Matadors ahead. James had 24 points and 17 rebounds for Bolsa Grande (7-3).

Estancia 62, Newport Harbor 55--Sam Nelson scored 19 points to lead Estancia. Matt Jameson and Alan Limon each scored 13 points for host Newport Harbor (5-4).

La Quinta 65, Savanna 63 (OT)--La Quinta’s Nam Truong scored at the end of regulation to tie the score and send the game into overtime. William Chau scored 16 points for La Quinta (4-5).

William King had 26 points for Savanna.

Santa Ana 57, Anaheim 56--Richard Hernandez made a free throw with 11 seconds left to give Santa Ana (5-5) a one-point lead. It was Hernandez’s only point of the game.

Anaheim (5-6) had a chance to win the game, but Shu Todoroki’s three-point attempt with two seconds left was long. Todoroki had 20 points for the Colonists.

Santa Ana Valley 66, Calvary Chapel 59--Koa Bartlett scored 25 points in a comeback victory for Santa Ana Valley. The Falcons (3-5) trailed by eight at the start of the fourth quarter and went into a full-court press. Forced errors proved costly for the Eagles, who were outscored by Santa Ana Valley, 26-11, in the fourth quarter.

Brett Young scored 26 points for Calvary Chapel.

Victor Valley Christian 55, Heritage Christian 52--Todd Warner scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Heritage Christian. Joel Marlowe added 14 points and six steals for the Patriots, who drop to 3-3.
