It didn’t take long to get Orange Lutheran’s attention.

Whittier Christian’s Matt Jones raced 78 yards 49 seconds into the game to give the Heralds an eight-point lead. But Orange Lutheran answered with Jason Whieldon’s three touchdown passes and two touchdown runs en route to a 57-22 victory in Olympic League play Thursday night at Brea Olinda.

Whieldon tied the score 1 minute 10 seconds later on a 16-yard run.

The sophomore quarterback threw for 197 yards. His favorite target was Jeff Renevier, who caught six passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

When the two weren’t hurting Whittier Christian (4-3, 0-2) through the air, Eric Lerch caused plenty of problems on the ground.
