Birkins, El Camino Real Stop San Fernando, 7-0

Senior left-hander Kurt Birkins pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and hit a triple and home run for El Camino Real High in a 7-0 victory over San Fernando in a Northwest Valley Conference baseball game Thursday at San Fernando.

Birkins (3-0) had a two-run homer to highlight a four-run sixth inning for the Conquistadores (5-5, 4-1 in conference play).

Harvard-Westlake 3, Loyola 2--Adam Siegel registered his first victory in 24 varsity starts, striking out seven and walking one while scattering eight hits for the Wolverines (4-5, 1-1) in a Mission League game at Loyola.

Kyle Beswick had a run-scoring single and Matt Felder added a sacrifice fly in a three-run third.

The Wolverines’ four victories are their most since 1994.

Chaminade 6, Alemany 5--Nathaniel Dunlap walked with the bases loaded in the seventh inning to force home the winning run for the Eagles in a Mission League game at Chaminade.

Dunlap, Chris Martinez and Bobby Berger each had two hits for Chaminade (4-4-1, 1-1-1).

Hoover 9, Pasadena 3--Chuy Lopez went five for five, including a home run to lead off the game for the Tornadoes (3-4-1, 1-2-1) in a Pacific League victory at Pasadena.

Lopez (2-2) scattered seven hits while striking out two.

Granada Hills 9, Birmingham 0--Peter Gunny hit two two-run home runs and Dan Frisbee had a grand slam for the Highlanders in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Granada Hills.

Kameron Loe (2-2) pitched a three-hitter for the Highlanders (3-7, 1-4), striking out five.

North Hollywood 4, Reseda 2--Ismael Rangsiyawong had two hits, including a double, for the Huskies (8-3, 5-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Reseda (4-6, 0-5).

Palmdale 15, Littlerock 2--Jason Gorman hit his fifth home run and had five RBIs for the Falcons in a Golden League game at Littlerock.

Mark Hendricks had a double, triple and two RBIs for Palmdale (8-2, 4-0).

Lancaster 10, Quartz Hill 6--Eric Sundberg had two hits, three RBIs and scored three for Lancaster (6-2, 2-1) in the Golden League game at Quartz Hill.

Ryan West had two hits, including his eighth home run, for Quartz Hill (7-3, 2-2).

Hueneme 8, Ventura 2--Robert Avila had three hits and two RBIs for the Vikings in a Channel League victory at Hueneme (6-3, 2-2.

Poly 7, Monroe 4--Juan Guerrero had two hits and two RBIs for the Parrots (7-1-1, 4-0-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Monroe (5-6-1, 2-4).

Rio Mesa 12, Dos Pueblos 5--Frank Tinoco drove in three runs with three hits for the Spartans (7-3, 3-1) in a Channel League victory at Rio Mesa.

Van Nuys 10, Grant 2--Junior Ayaka doubled, homered and had four RBIs for the Wolves (4-7-1, 2-2-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Grant.

Danny Schrader had three hits for Grant (2-9, 2-4).

Sylmar 17, Canoga Park 0--Mario Pacheco and Fidel Espinoza combined on a five-inning perfect game in a Valley Pac-8 game at Sylmar.

Pacheco (4-0) struck out seven in four innings. Espinoza struck out two.

Eddie Camacho had a double, a triple and four RBIs for Sylmar (10-1, 6-0).

Grace Brethren 25, Hillcrest Christian 0--Tim Thompson (4-0) pitched a no-hitter and struck out 10 for the Hawks (6-1) in a game halted in the fifth by the 10-run rule at Grace Brethren.

Burbank 12, Canyon 8--Jacob Sheffield and John McGinley hit three-run home runs for the Bulldogs (4-6, 1-4) in a Foothill League victory at Canyon.
