The Palisades girls’ basketball team advanced last season to the City final where the Dolphins lost to Harbor City Narbonne. But with Narbonne ineligible for the playoffs this season, Palisades appears to be the early front-runner for the championship.

Palisades played well in last week’s tournament at Brea Olinda. The Dolphins advanced to the semifinals before losing to Southern Section power Palos Verdes Peninsula, 47-45. Brea Olinda defeated Peninsula, 50-47, in the final.

Palisades will participate in the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions this weekend.
