Royal Travels to Palisades
As expected, Royal and Harvard-Westlake high schools each earned high seedings for the state girls’ volleyball playoffs.
Royal (31-4), the Southern Section Division I-A champion, was seeded No. 2 in the Division I Southern region and, in a unique twist, will play on the road at unseeded Palisades, the City Section champion.
The Dolphins (23-0) had a higher “travel priority number” than Royal and will host the Highlanders at 7 tonight in the first round.
Harvard-Westlake was seeded No. 2 in the Division III Southern region. The Wolverines (19-5), the Southern Section III-A champions, will host Exeter, a school 50 miles southeast of Fresno, at 7 tonight.
