Placentia El Dorado 10, Hemet 3--In the Division III final, Brett Marro drove in five runs with a double and his ninth home run to pace the Golden Hawks (26-5) to their first title since winning the 5-A championship in 1989.
Senior left-hander J.P. Frid (10-0) survived four El Dorado errors in the first four innings and pitched a complete game. He gave up five hits, walked one and struck out five. El Dorado had 12 hits against Hemet starter Ryan Rocheleau (8-3) and reliever Danny Padilla. A three-run third inning keyed by Marro’s two-run double broke a 2-2 tie and gave El Dorado the lead for good. Hemet finished 24-6-1.
