Kennedy replaced its wooden running game with a sleek passing attack, and its wooden bleachers with sleek aluminum.

But while the passing attack has taken hold quickly in two victories, the bleachers might not be ready for the home opener Friday night against North Hollywood.

“We think they are going to be ready,” said Craig Raub, a Kennedy assistant coach. “They are working around the clock to get them in.”

The goal is to install all the bleachers on the home side and enough on the visitor’s side to accommodate North Hollywood. If the job isn’t completed in time, the game will be played at North Hollywood.

Bobby Stanley brought a breath of fresh air to San Fernando’s offense, rushing for 170 yards in 23 carries in a season-opening victory over Jefferson.

But an inability to catch his breath kept him out of the Tigers’ game Friday against Los Angeles. Stanley was rushed to the hospital earlier in the week because of an asthma attack.

Stanley, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound junior who also plays outside linebacker, has been cleared to play this week against L.A. Jordan. Stanley started at fullback and linebacker as a sophomore and moved to tailback this year.

“It’s always going to be a potential problem, but he has it under control right now,” Coach Sean Blunt said.

The San Fernando rushing attack didn’t suffer. William Lang, who is smaller but faster than Stanley, rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns in 21 carries.
