City Section Individual tournament--Third-seeded Jasmin Dao of Granada Hills advanced to the singles semifinals with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over teammate Canna Furuta at the Balboa Tennis Center.

Second-seeded Moe Moe Myinttun of Fairfax beat No. 7 Cindy Yim of Cleveland, 6-4, 6-3.

In doubles, top-seeded Shannon Slotnick and Caryn Linder of Granada Hills defeated eighth-seeded Huong Long and Wanda Long of Franklin, 6-4, 6-2.

Fourth-seeded Kelly Chain and Jennifer Bermudez of Westchester defeated Karina Rojas and Valerie Mendoza of San Fernando, 6-3, 6-3.

Third-seeded Kelly Takeshita and Andrea Blieden of Granada Hills beat Cristina Avery and Becky Bort-Mills of Westchester, 6-1, 6-0.
