Tyler Adamczyk of Westlake, the Warriors’ leading scorer and rebounder, has mononucleosis and is out for the rest of the season.

Adamczyk, a 6-foot-6 junior forward, was averaging 18.4 points and 7.8 rebounds before missing Westlake’s last two games with the illness.

“It’s disappointing not to be able to play,” Adamczyk said. “I don’t like sitting around. But maybe this will help me get focused for baseball.”

Senior guard Todd Tomlinson of Moorpark has set the school career scoring record and is closing in on the single-season mark.

Tomlinson, averaging a Ventura County-leading 24.8 points this season, has 1,676 points in his four-year career, eclipsing the previous record of 1,632 points set by Kevin Lawrence in three seasons from 1995-98.

Tomlinson is 28 points shy of the Moorpark single-season record of 649 set by Lawrence in 1997-98. The Musketeers play at Newbury Park tonight in a Marmonte League game.

Ventura compiled a 2-1 record in the absence of injured leading scorer Tyler Ebell, thanks in part to Mike Derse.

The 6-3 senior forward entered a game Tuesday night against Camarillo averaging 13.6 points, but he averaged 21 points when Ebell was sidelined because of a sprained right ankle.

Derse had 26 points and eight rebounds in a 60-57 loss at Santa Barbara (21-2, 6-0) on Friday.
