Hawaii Sweeps Northridge
Hawaii defeated Cal State Northridge, 15-13, 15-7, 15-12, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball match Wednesday night at Northridge.
Clay Stanley delivered 23 kills for Hawaii (7-2, 3-1 in MPSF play), ranked No. 6 in the nation.
Costas Theocharidis added 17 kills and 10 digs for Hawaii.
Eckhard Walter had 16 kills and Adam Black added 11 for the Matadors (2-4, 1-4).
Junior Mosones had five kills and six hitting errors for Northridge. J.P. Jandreau had nine kills and seven hitting errors for the Matadors.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Canyons 145, Citrus 59--Tasha Allen scored 38 points for the Cougars in a Western State Conference Southern Division victory at Canyons. Canyons (22-6, 10-0) fell one point shy of the school record for points in a game.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Cal Lutheran 102, Redlands 57--Richard Iskenderian scored 19 points as the host Kingsmen (11-8, 4-5) made 59.1% of their shots in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.
COLLEGE SOFTBALL
Antelope Valley 24, Valley 0--Nadine Klemenz hit a grand slam and finished with five runs batted in to spark the Marauders (3-0) in a nonconference game at Antelope Valley.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Chaminade 4, Alemany 1--Kim Taylor scored two goals and the host Eagles (18-4-4, 7-0-3) finished undefeated in Mission League play for the first time.
Westlake 1, Simi Valley 0--Sara Silver-Hill’s kept the Warriors (15-2-3, 9-1-1) in first place in a Marmonte League game at Simi Valley.
