The Agoura girls are in uncharted territory.

Before a two-point overtime victory over Gahr on Saturday in the first round of the Southern Section Division II-AA playoffs, the Chargers had not won a postseason game in eight seasons under Coach Ollie Otis.

Agoura (17-11), which was second in the Marmonte League, plays at La Quinta (23-4) tonight.

“This is all new to everyone,” Otis said. “We don’t know what’s around a lot of the corners, but it’s been exciting so far.”

By winning tonight, Agoura would likely host Brea Olinda, seeking its 12th consecutive section title, on Saturday.

“We know what’s around that corner,” Otis said.

Guard Nancy Pabon will miss Newbury Park’s Division II-A quarterfinal tonight against Antelope Valley because of a sprained heel and calf muscle.

Pabon was injured late in the Panthers’ 82-73 second-round victory over Burroughs on Saturday. She scored 15 points in that game.
