In another Division I first-round game:

Los Alamitos 7, Oxnard 3--The Griffins trailed, 2-0, before senior second baseman Chico Velasquez ignited a comeback with a third-inning home run at Los Alamitos.

Gabe Aguilar had three hits, including a double, Gary James had a run-scoring double and Matthew Merricks hit a home run for Oxnard (18-8).

DIVISION II

Palmdale 6, Sultana 1--The host Falcons snapped a two-game losing streak as Matt Harrington (11-0) gave up five hits, struck out 13 and walked one in six innings.

Sultana (17-10) scored an unearned run in the first, but Palmdale (19-6) scored three runs in the bottom of the inning on a two-run home run by Nick DeFranco and a home run by Drew Kennedy.

Kennedy had three hits and Matt Plant had two, one run batted in and scored twice.

Hart 12, Lancaster 0--Eric Posthumus struck out 10 and walked one in a one-hitter and the Indians (22-5) routed Lancaster (14-11) in a game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule at Hart.

Colton Walker doubled to open the game for Lancaster’s only hit off Posthumus (8-0), who notched his third complete game.

Bill Susdorf hit his fourth home run and finished with four RBIs, and Mike Miller doubled and drove in two runs for Hart.

California 13, Royal 3--Brian Gunn had two hits for Royal (17-12). Host California broke a 3-3 tie with six runs in the third.

Damien 4, Ventura 1--John Bierly (6-5) gave up two earned runs, six walks and struck out eight in 4 2/3 innings for host Ventura (14-12).

DIVISION III

Westlake 10, Temple City 0--Jesse Kozlowski threw a one-hitter and Jeff Dragicevich had three home runs and drove in five runs in a game at Westlake (23-3) called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Dragicevich hit home runs in the second, third and fifth innings. He and Kozlowski hit consecutive homers in the third. Jon Shepard had three hits and scored twice.

Kozlowski (8-1) struck out four and walked one.

Burroughs 9, South Torrance 0--Tim Murphy hit a two-run triple to highlight a six-run sixth inning for Burroughs (16-11)at South Torrance.

Murphy finished with three hits and two RBIs, both on flyouts. Jose Garcia had two hits, including an RBI double in the fourth.

Jesse Dominguez (6-2) struck out six and walked two in a five-hitter. It was his fifth complete game of the season.

Paso Robles 5, Calabasas 2--Tony Sulser gave up four hits but two wild pitches and two errors by Calabasas in the second inning resulted in five runs at Paso Robles.

Grant Stuppel had a double and an RBI for Calabasas (13-11-1).

DIVISION IV

Chaminade 2, Lompoc 1--Left-hander Bobby Paschal (8-0) allowed two hits and struck out two in 6 2/3 innings for Chaminade at No. 2-seeded Lompoc.

Lompoc led, 1-0, after scoring an unearned run in the third.

The Eagles (19-6) scored twice in the fifth on Ryan Soroka’s single and Jonathan Higashi’s double.

Jason Urquidez needed one pitch to induce a flyout and earn his third save. Chaminade hosts Nordhoff in a second-round game Tuesday.

Notre Dame 12, Mayfair 10--The visiting Knights trailed, 4-1, after three innings, but had a home run, two triples, three doubles and two singles in a seven-run fourth.

James Rivero had a two-run home run and Chris Dickerson had a two-run triple in the fourth for Notre Dame (16-9).

Nordhoff 15, La Canada 5--John Hill and Tony Lagos each had three hits for host Nordhoff (18-4) in a game called after six innings because of the 10-run rule.

Hill had four RBIs, including a two-run home run, and Lagos drove in three runs.

Scott Drew (9-3) allowed two earned runs on six hits for Nordhoff, which has won nine in a row.

Gladstone 10, Oak Park 2--Blake Nelson had two hits for Oak Park (8-15) at Gladstone (21-3).

John Gomez hit two-run homers in the fourth and sixth innings and finished with three hits.

DIVISION V

St. Bonaventure 4, L.A. Baptist 1--Gilbert Infante pitched a four-hitter and struck out five at St. Bonaventure (18-4-1).

David Garza had a double and an RBI for St. Bonaventure, and Mike Barrow had two RBIs.

Campbell Hall 7, Whittier Christian 1--Blake Lichtig hit a three-run home run in the third inning at Campbell Hall.

Michael Frost (9-0) struck out six, walked one and gave up seven hits. He had two hits and four RBIs.

Daniel Munoz hit a home run in the sixth for Campbell Hall.

Montclair Prep 7, La Salle 4--Seth Epstein and Stephen Yoo each had two hits and Danny Spiegel hit a two-run double in a five-run fourth inning for Montclair Prep (16-7) at La Salle (17-9).

DIVISION VI

Viewpoint 11, Granada Hills Hillcrest Christian 1--Nick Fries and Artin Sedighan combined on a three-hitter for Viewpoint (13-6) at Calabasas High.

Nick McKay had two hits and three RBIs.

Village Christian 3, Ontario Christian 0--Jeremy Gonzales gave up one hit and struck out 10 for host Village Christian (16-5).
