CITY SECTION

Who’s In: The unbeatens--Sylmar from the Valley Mission League and Birmingham from the West Valley--and the winner of the Sunset Six title game between Grant and North Hollywood are assured spots in the 16-team City Championship tournament.

On the Bubble: Taft and Kennedy will make the City Championship tournament with victories. Granada Hills and San Fernando must win big and hope for the best. Otherwise, the Highlanders and Tigers will be highly seeded in the second-tier City Invitational tournament, which should also take Cleveland, Canoga Park and the loser of the Grant-North Hollywood game.

SOUTHERN SECTION DIVISION III

Who’s In: Top-ranked Notre Dame, the Mission League champion, has qualified and St. Francis plays Chaminade for the league’s other automatic playoff berth. Golden League champion Antelope Valley and runner-up Palmdale are in. Hart, Valencia and Saugus have clinched berths from the Foothill League, and Crescenta Valley, Arcadia and Muir are assured spots from the Pacific.

On the Bubble: The loser of the St. Francis-Chaminade game is likely to receive one of two at-large bids. Lancaster can clinch the final berth in the Golden League with a victory over Quartz Hill. A Quartz Hill victory could cause a three-way tie for third, with Littlerock also in the mix.

DIVISION IV

Who’s In: Westlake has clinched the Marmonte League title. Buena and Ventura are guaranteed playoff berths from the Channel League. Hueneme has clinched a tie for the Pacific View title. Camarillo and Oxnard can share the title with victories over Rio Mesa and Channel Islands, respectively. Channel Islands will also advance. San Luis Obispo has clinched a Northern League spot.

On the Bubble: Four Marmonte League teams are vying for three playoff berths: Royal, Agoura, Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks. Dos Pueblos, Santa Barbara and San Marcos are fighting for the other two spots in the Channel League. Righetti, Arroyo Grande and Lompoc are fighting for the other three playoff berths from the Northern League.

DIVISION VII

On the Bubble: Harvard-Westlake needs a victory over Angelus League leader St. Bernard to keep its playoff hopes alive.

DIVISION X

Who’s In: La Canada has clinched second place in the Rio Hondo League and can win the title outright with a victory or tie against Monrovia on Thursday.

DIVISION XI

Who’s In: St. Bonaventure has clinched its fifth consecutive Tri-Valley League title. Four teams from each of the division’s four leagues will earn playoff berths. The Tri-Valley’s Bishop Diego and Carpinteria are in. Nordhoff has clinched a share of the Frontier League title. Calabasas, Santa Paula and Malibu have also secured playoff berths.

On the Bubble: In the Tri-Valley League, Oak Park needs a victory Thursday over winless Fillmore to secure a playoff spot.

DIVISION XII

Who’s In: Paraclete and Kilpatrick will play for the Alpha League title on Friday, and L.A. Baptist has clinched third. Bell-Jeff has clinched a playoff berth and is a victory away from the outright Santa Fe League title. Frazier Mountain has clinched second place in the High Desert, as well as its first playoff spot.

On the Bubble: Montclair Prep is the top-ranked team in the division, but the Mounties won’t officially be in the playoffs as an at-large selection until Sunday, when the section announces the playoff pairings. St. Genevieve and Cantwell Sacred Heart are battling for the final playoff spot from the Santa Fe League.
