Sylmar def. San Pedro, 15-10, 15-5, 15-10--Gaby Herrera served seven consecutive points and had two digs to help the Spartans (16-0) overcome an 8-0 deficit in the first game at Sylmar.
Stephanie Cisneros had 22 kills, including nine each in the first and third games. Cisneros, a 5-foot-9 opposite hitter, also had six blocks.
INVITATIONAL
Kennedy def. Monroe, 15-10, 15-12, 15-13--Junior middle hitter Jevay Grooms had a .500 hitting percentage for the Golden Cougars (10-6) in a semifinal at Kennedy.
The Golden Cougars will play Carson on Friday at Occidental College at 5:30 p.m.
