It would be unfair to say Kilpatrick (2-3) has won its last two games solely because of running back-defensive back-kick returner Jeremy Hartsfield.

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Mustang has rushed for 542 yards and scored 11 touchdowns after missing the first three games for disciplinary reasons.

“He does make an incredible difference,” co-Coach Scott Faer of Kilpatrick said. “He does so many things and is such a great athlete that he can hurt you in any aspect of the game.”

Hartsfield, who played for Dorsey last season, rushed for 263 yards and five touchdowns in 12 carries and had a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in 56-12 victory over Santa Clara on Sept. 29.

He gained 279 yards and scored four touchdowns in 23 carries and had a 49-yard touchdown reception in a 36-26 victory against Hesperia on Saturday.
