Westlake’s swarming defense had only been missing one thing--interceptions.

The Warriors (6-1) had only four interceptions in six games until an outburst by its secondary Friday against Irvine Woodbridge.

Westlake picked off four passes, matching its season total entering the game.

Phil McKnight had two interceptions and Ryan Foltz and Chad Spears each had one in a 26-14 victory.

Westlake, ranked No. 1 in the region by The Times, is allowing 177 yards and 10.3 points per game.
