Bill Redell couldn’t be more pleased with having 51 freshmen and sophomores out for football at new Oaks Christian High in Westlake Village. He originally ordered only 36 uniforms.

“It’s a pleasant problem to have,” Redell said.

Classes began Monday at the $40-million campus that includes a lighted football stadium. The chalk-lining crew from the San Diego Chargers lined the new field last week. The stadium seats 2,500. Oaks Christian is playing a junior varsity schedule this season.

Jarbo is set to play wide receiver, tight end, running back--wherever the Indians need him. He intercepted five passes last season at free safety.

“When you’re an athlete like him, you need to put him wherever you can get him the ball,” Knoop said.
