In a Sunset League boys’ swimming dual meet:

Marina 106, Huntington Beach 63--Ryan Gaglio of Marina won the 200 individual medley (2:14.52) and 100 butterfly (56.34) and was the leadoff swimmer in two of the three winning relays.

In Academy League softball:

Oxford Academy 9, St. Margaret’s 6--Melissa Porche struck out 12 and gave up two earned runs for host Oxford Academy (8-2, 1-1). Brittany Hebert doubled in the winning runs in the sixth.

In the South Coast League:

No. 10 Capistrano Valley 3, Mission Viejo 1--Sophomore Brooke Weekley pitched a complete game for Capistrano Valley (10-4-1, 1-1) with seven strikeouts and had the winning hit in the sixth inning, a two-run home run that broke a 1-1 tie. Sophomore shortstop Meredith Parks, who scored on the home run, was three for three.

San Clemente 2, El Toro 1--Brooke Dixon pitched a five-hitter and provided her own offense in the fourth inning, driving in one run with a triple and then scoring. Jenny Maze and Erica Hansen had two hits for San Clemente (4-10, 2-0). El Toro is 11-5 (2-0).

In the Canyon tournament:

Rosary 3, No. 3 Esperanza 1--Dana Kenney had three hits and Mallory Anderson (7-3) pitched a three-hitter for Rosary in a pool-play game.

Earlier, the Royals (13-6) beat Rowland Heights Rowland, 3-1, as Megan Boulger (5-3) struck out 11 and Kenney had three hits, three runs and two stolen bases.

In South Coast League boys’ tennis:

No. 9 Capistrano Valley 15, Trabuco Hills 3--Derrick Klunchoo did not lose a game in his three sets for Capistrano Valley (10-0, 5-0).

In Century League boys’ volleyball:

No. 2 Foothill 3, El Modena 0--Kevin Logan had 13 kills and Chris Coleman had eight blocks for Foothill (7-1, 4-0), which won, 15-3, 15-10, 15-6.

El Modena is 7-2, 2-2.

In the Orange League:

Valencia 3, Western 0--Chris Franklin, playing with a sprained ankle, led Valencia with 11 kills and six blocks. Setter Dan Bonkoski had 34 assists and three aces for the Tigers, who won, 15-12, 16-14, 15-13. Valencia (6-5, 3-0) is first in the four-team league after the first of three rounds.

Ramsey Fiapai led second-place Western (4-3, 2-1) with 11 kills.

In the Sunset League:

No. 7 Marina 3, Huntington Beach 0--Drew Wilson had 11 kills, Chris Roe had 10 and Billy Berger had seven digs for host Marina (11-1, 4-0), which won, 15-2, 15-11, 15-3.
