Covina Charter Oak 3, Rosemead 7--Senior Keith Harris rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns as Charter Oak (11-2) advanced to its fourth consecutive Division VII championship game. The Chargers, who have two Southern Section titles, won their last title in 1998.

Harris, who carried the ball 24 times, scored on runs one, one and 54 yards, helping top-seeded Charter Oak to a 24-0 lead midway through the third quarter at Rosemead High.

The Chargers, who had two touchdowns called back due to penalties, also got a 45-yard field goal from Jonathan Granger, and a 13-yard interception return by Rafael Falcon.

Charter Oak’s defense dominated fourth-seeded Rosemead (10-3), holding the Panthers to only 143 yards on offense and forcing four turnovers. Charter Oak will face the winner of Saturday’s semifinal game between Los Altos and Santa Fe in next week’s Division VII final.
