* Irvine University converted 19 three-pointers, including seven by Bobby Gomez and six by Jon Asnon, in a 114-59 victory over Whittier Pioneer. Gomez finished with 32 points and Asnon had 21.

* Sylmar rallied from a 16-point second-half deficit to defeat Canoga Park, 75-72, after senior Frank Robinson scored the last four points. Robinson finished with 14 points and Louis Darby added 20 for the Spartans. Maurice Neal made 10 three-pointers and had 41 points for Canoga Park.

* Playing with four fouls, Redondo Union’s Keith Ellison scored 21 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter in the Seahawks’ 69-65 loss to Corona Centennial.

* Ganesha’s Michael Efevberha scored 41 points in a 67-59 victory over Bellflower.

* Cerritos Valley Christian’s Yohance Barrett hit five of six free throws in the final minute of a 58-57 victory over La Verne Damien.

* Woodbridge defeated then-No. 12 Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley, 62-53.

* Claremont defeated then-No. 8 Glendora, 67-60.

TEAMS ON THE RISE

* Bellflower St. John Bosco. The Braves (8-0) defeated Crescenta Valley, 70-65, to win the Crescenta Valley tournament.

* Sylmar. The Spartans (4-1) routed Thousand Oaks, 78-63, to win the Sylmar tournament.

* Diamond Ranch. The Panthers (6-2) beat Placentia El Dorado, 48-45, to win the El Dorado tournament.

LOOKING AHEAD

* Fremont and Inglewood are among a handful of Southern California teams participating in the Las Vegas Prep Classic, which runs Thursday through Saturday.

* Ontario plays Thursday at Claremont in a battle of teams on the brink of The Times’ top 25 rankings.
