Final top 10 for the girls’ cross-country season:
1. Peninsula (SS-Bay)
Panthers finished fifth in Southern Section Division I final but won state title with stunning upset of Dana Point Dana Hills.
2. Dana Hills (SS-South Coast)
Dolphins won first Southern Section Division I title before finishing eight points behind Peninsula in state championships.
3. Esperanza (SS-Sunset)
Top team in the region for most of season drops to third after finishing sixth in Southern Section Division I final and fourth in state meet.
4. Woodbridge (SS-Sea View)
Warriors won Southern Section Division II final and placed second in state meet and Orange County championships.
5. Thousand Oaks (SS-Marmonte)
Lancers put it all together at end of season, finishing second in Southern Section Division I final and third in state meet.
6. Ayala (SS-Sierra)
Bulldogs placed second in team sweepstakes race of Mt. San Antonio College Invitational, third in Southern Section Division I final and fifth in state meet.
7. Murrieta Valley (SS-Southwestern)
Nighthawks won Inland Empire and Woodbridge invitationals earlier in season and placed 11th in Southern Section Division I final after top runner Liza Pasciuto collapsed.
8. Canyon Country Canyon
(SS-Foothill)
Cowboys placed fourth in Southern Section Division I final and 11th in state meet.
9. Fountain Valley (SS-Sunset)
Barons came on strong at end of season to finish seventh in Division I races of Southern Section and state championships.
10. Royal (SS-Marmonte)
Highlanders won first Ventura County title and placed ninth in Southern Section Division I final and sixth in state meet.
