BOYS’ TENNIS / SOUTHERN SECTION PLAYOFF SEMIFINALS

In another Division I match:

University 13, Irvine 3--Aaron Yovan and Jack Li swept in singles to remain undefeated in the playoffs. The defending champion and top-seeded Trojans (17-7) play second-seeded Woodbridge in the final on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Claremont Club.

Woodbridge 12, Troy 6--A.J. Bertone and Paul Strozier won, 6-2, 6-2, 6-2, in doubles for second-seeded Woodbridge. Jeff Das swept in singles for Troy (20-4).

In Division III:

Westlake Village Westlake 10, Canyon 8--Andy Tran and Brad Bogner took two of three sets in doubles, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2, as did Ravi Sharma and Travis Kula, 7-5, 3-6, 6-2, for third-seeded Canyon (20-4).

In Division IV:

Servite 17, Palm Desert 1--Nick Boerner and Stephen Buchanan swept at No. 3 doubles for the top-seeded Friars (23-0), who will play second-seeded Dos Pueblos on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Claremont Club.

In Division V:

Corona del Mar 11, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake 7--Cameron Ball swept in singles for the top-seeded Sea Kings (22-0), who play second-seeded Brentwood in Wednesday’s final at 11:30 a.m. at the Claremont Club.
