Rosemead 12, El Monte 7--Quarterback Josh Vasquez connected with Stephen Barela on a 12-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to lift Rosemead (4-2, 1-0) in a Mission Valley League game at Arroyo High.

Vasquez and Barela also hooked up on an eight-yard scoring play in the first quarter. El Monte falls to 3-3, 0-1.

Oaks Christian 56, Santa Clara 0--Johnny Giangregorio rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns in 13 carries and Adam Richter ran for 112 yards and two scores in six carries for Westlake Village Oaks Christian (6-0-1) in a nonleague victory at Santa Clara.

Aaron Ware added 120 yards and one touchdown in 12 carries for the Lions, and Joey Halzle completed five of 11 passes for 74 yards, including scoring strikes of 26, eight and five yards.

Damien 9, South Pasadena 8--Casey Jarvis of Damien scored with 13 seconds left in sudden-death overtime to give the Spartans the win against South Pasadena in the championship of the North Orange County Invitational at Las Flores Park in La Verne.

Corona del Mar 17, Capistrano Valley 3--Artie Dorr scored five goals, Mike March had four and Marcello Pantuliano added three for the top-ranked Sea Kings (13-1), who led, 12-0, at halftime.

La Jolla The Bishop’s 13, Newport Beach Newport Harbor 8--Michael Bury had four goals and Michael Vanderburg had two for Newport Harbor, but the Sailors (9-7) lost to The Bishop’s, which was a San Diego Section Division II finalist last season.
