SAN JOSE — Police found one man dead, and another man and two women injured after a confrontation apparently involving a crossbow at a house on Tuesday afternoon.
Police responded to a call from the house about 2:20 p.m., said Sgt. Steve Dixon.
Two severely beaten women came out of the house when police arrived. They were taken to a hospital.
Police found a man inside the house who had serious slash wounds to his wrists and forearms. Police took him to Santa Clara Medical Center, where he was being treated and detained for questioning.
They believe the man is a suspect in the death of the other man, who was found in the backyard patio area of the home.
“The shooting does not appear to have been from a firearm but more of a crossbow or some type of weapon of that sort,” Dixon said.
The four people may have been roommates, Dixon said. The death and injuries are under investigation.
