A man was shot to death by Buena Park police late Friday after leading them on a high-speed chase through two cities.
Police did not release the name of the victim or the officer involved.
The officer was placed on administrative leave until the Orange County district attorney’s office investigates, said Lt. Rod Natale, a spokesman for the Buena Park Police Department.
Natale said the chase started about 11 p.m. Friday when officers attempted to stop the man for driving recklessly near Beach Boulevard and Orangethorpe Avenue.
After leading them through Anaheim, Natale said, the man returned to Buena Park, where he crashed into a center divider at Beach and Manchester boulevards. Natale said the man was armed, but could not confirm reports the man had left his car and fired on officers.
